Nighttide was founded by Heidi and Darren Henderson,
two individuals who are well-experienced in helping small businesses
start their own internet presence. With over 20 years of combined
internet and programming experience, they use their expertise to
create websites that are professional, affordable, and attractive.
Heidi Henderson has been designing websites since 1996. Since then,
she has worked in both the Print Graphic Design and Web Development
fields. She served as Online Project Manager for Landmark Community
Newspapers, Inc. from January 1997 to March 2001. While there, she
helped nearly 30 national non-daily newspapers, collegiate sports
publications, tourism commissions, and small businesses build an
online presence. Two of her newspaper sites won the Press Association
awards for best non-daily newspaper Web Site in their respective
states in the year 2000.
As Nighttide's Chief Web and Graphic Designer, she continues to
use her knowledge of multimedia, web, and graphic design to stay
on the cutting edge of web design. Her specialties include HTML
latest in traditional and cutting-edge technology.
Darren Henderson graduated from the University of Maine in 1985
where he earned his bachelors' degree in Computer Science and in
Psychology. Over the past 20 years he has worked as a programmer,
analyst, and network/systems administrator. He has experience with
platforms ranging from PCs to mainframes, as well as large variety
of operating systems. He is fluent in a number of programming languages
inlcuding Perl, C, Cobol, and PHP.
For the past 17 years he has worked as a developer and network/system
administrator in an environment consisting of numerous AIX and Novell
systems with Windows NT clients. He has extensive knowledge of AIX
and FreeBSD and has worked with a number of other UNIX variants.
Darren is Nighttide's chief programming consultant. He has extensive
experience developing web based applications in Perl, PHP and other
web development languages. He is quite familiar with Apache, the
most widely used web server on the Internet.
